Local appliance repair man active in his community as he collects 665 pounds of food during annual food drive
Suffolk County, NY – Bob Dougherty, owner of Fleet Appliance Repair, serves God faithfully by giving back to the community and helping his neighbors. While praising God for his own good fortune, Bob spreads his blessings to help ensure the needy in his neighborhood have food.
Long Island Cares, the Harry Chapin Food Bank, sent Bob a letter of acknowledgement, thanking him for the 665 pounds of food collected during the 2013 food drive conducted by Fleet Appliance Service.
Bob Dougherty joins this mission every year to help make sure children and families do not go hungry. In addition to distributing more than 6 million pounds of food to over 500 member agencies, Long Island Cares seeks to raise public awareness about hunger and provides skills to foster self-sufficiency among people who benefit from their services.
Long Island Cares is grateful to companies like Fleet Appliance Repair who help with this important mission. Many times hunger and poverty are hard to see. People are often ashamed to seek help when they are struggling and in spite of the kindness extended by the food pantry workers, they still worry endlessly about their ability to feed their family.
Bob Dougherty extends his appreciation to his loyal customers who choose Fleet Appliance (http://www.appliancerepairsuffolkcountyny.com/) for all their appliance service and repair needs. Every time Bob performs an appliance service, refrigerator repair, stove and range repair, washer repair, dryer maintenance and more, a portion of the proceeds go to help deserving charities like Long Island Cares Food Bank.
